“Pleasant but unexciting overview of coast. Waimea Garden is very touristy and underwhelming as a “waterfall swim experience”. Think would have been better to go into Kualoa Ranch or Halewa instead. Driver was 25 min late in morning and in return had to double back for people who did not get off on their stop making us stay on bus longer.”

The rain was on and off, which is expected in a rainforest, and while the ground was a bit muddy, it was manageable with decent footwear. The transportation included a couple of quick points of interest: the driver noted Obama’s first job at Baskin Robbins and pointed out the hospital that issued his birth certificate on the way to the trailhead.
